Summary

The task is to design a "mixed signal" circuit, e.g. an audio amplifier. The adjustment of gain is digital. The students use state-of-the-art-design tools (HSPICE, Cadence, ...) with following order: Design of op-amp; Resistor realization with an SC-filter; Design of SC-resistances; Realisation of clock sequence for the SC-switches; Construction of integrated logic gates; Design of control logic of the gain stage; Verification of the circuit with HSPICE; Layout of subcircuits; Layout of the complete integrated circuit; Layout validation, extraction and post-layout-simulation.
