Teaching
The Chair for Computer Science 9 (Computer Graphics) primarily trains students in computer science and computational engineering but also other students from the ‘Technischen Fakultät’ or the Mathmatics Department with computer science as subsidiary subject.
The fundamental lectures are “Computer Graphics”, “Visualization” and “Geometric modelling”. All lectures are accompanied by programming tutorials. Based on these basic lectures there are some specialized courses for subjects like “Analyis and Visualization of Medical Images”, “Interactiv Computer Graphics”, “Computer Animation”, “Flächenmodellierung” etc.
Beyond this we offer the Graphics Programming Exercise “GraPA”. Students have to implement four given, comprehensive exercises individually and extend the gained skills in a fifth project they can choose for themselves. Despite the time consuming nature of this course it is very popular for several years now.
