Special Elite program for particularly qualified Master students in the context of the Elite Network of Bavaria
Additional module for a special support of elite CE Master students
In winter 2004/2005, a special elite program has been launched in the
framework of the Elite Netzwerk Bayern initiative. This top-level program explicitely
addresses the most capable and dedicated students of the Master Program Computational Engineering.
The cornerstones of our elite program will be:
- extensive project work, in cooperation with an industry partner whenever this is possible
- summer/winter academies and block tutorials will lead you to a deeper understanding of
your fields of interest
- developing soft skills - in additional courses, we will try not only to advance your
technical knowlegde, but also improve your skills in management, communication, teamwork,
and related topics
The reward for this extra effort - your outstanding performance in the Master Program
assumed - will be the academic degree of a Master of Science with Honours,
which shall be a hallmark of outstanding achievement in your studies.

Application and Admission
As an extension to the regular CE Master Program, the Elite program, of course, firstly
requires admission in that. The admission procedure to the Honours Program is then carried
out during the first semester. The student is expected to achieve an average grade of 2.0 or
better in the first semester (German grading system: best grade is 1.0, minimum grade to
pass is 4.0). After a formal application, the applicant will be invited for an interview
with the Honours commission. If the Honours board support the application, admission will
be granted.
